A Science-Based Reason to Read More Books

To improve my sleep, I ran an experiment before going to bed.

It was from one of Bryan Johnson’s videos where I learn to reduce my heart rate before sleeping.
That’s why I did for a week.

I measured my heart rate every 30 minutes:
After some breaths to find my baseline.
Then after some relaxing activities, like journaling, meditation, and reading.

Guess which one lowered my heart rate the most?
Reading a book.
I read fiction in my native language, to be precise.

There’s a reason why that I found when reading How reading books regulates your nervous system:

Reading involves different systems of our brain:

This coordination of systems moves you from “fight or fly” into “rest and digest.” Which has measurable changes in your body.

Reading regulates your nervous system.
Another good reason to do it.

You can regulate yours by reading one of my books. Find them here.
