re: You're Born to F*cking Create (A Simple Cure for Burnout)
26 Jul 2026 #wellness #selfgrowth #writingAlmost everybody In my first AMA asked the same thing: What helped you overcome burnout?
The answer is simple: Bring back a sense of joy to your life.
Tim Denning wrote about it in You’re born to f*cking create:
If you feel stuck, the easiest way I know how is to start writing publicly.
If you’ve got other creative goals, then do those. But make sure every day you are creating things and putting them out into the world to see what comes back.
Make creativity your #1 priority.
Burnout is disconnection.
To reconnect with yourself, go back to your hobbies or start new ones. For me, that was writing a daily post.
Writing 200 words gave me a reason to wake up every day. Writing about my career milestones felt like therapy.
Little by little, a hobby became serious. One post led to my first writing course. Then it led to a 100-post streak. Then to the idea of writing a book. Then to finally calling myself a writer. Then to my horizon goal: documenting my life in books.
Apart from daily healthy habits, writing saved me—by giving me a purpose. That’s why I keep doing it.
If you’re feeling disconnected or burned out, diversify your joy—and go back to your hobbies.
